Citrix to enter datacenter and desktop virtualization markets with acquisition of XenSource
Today, August 15, 2007, Citrix announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire XenSource, Inc., a leader in enterprise virtual infrastructure solutions. This acquisition is strategic for Citrix and moves Citrix and their channel partners into the datacenter virtualization market, while expanding its position in desktop virtualization – both markets adjacent to application virtualization and with enormous growth potential. Together, Citrix and XenSource will make virtualization solutions more relevant, by delivering real business value and by greatly simplifying virtualization technologies
